"„Unter den Eichen“ is a song for fun times, a drinking song that should leave no throat dry. That’s the feeling you get from the first second when you get caught by the catchy main theme. Lyrically and musically the song is not as serious and progressive as the rest of the album, but every now and then there comes a time to leave all your sorrow behind, just grab a beer and the person next to you and enjoy life to its fullest!"

"Dvalin are not just 'another Folk / Pagan Metal Act', they stand head and shoulders above the pack with their unique sound, which is both refreshing and original! The guys combine melodic, playful and sometimes experimental Death Metal with classical medieval sounds, blending instruments like the bagpipes akin to medieval rock bands such as In Extremo. A delight for the ear is also the fact that each member knows his craft and Dvalin move playfully at a higher level than one that might expect from a band so young."

"Reset, Reboot, Redeem" was recorded, mixed and co-produced by Swedish death metal legend Fred Estby (Necronaut, The Dagger, ex-Dismember) at Gutterview Recorders, with additional parts recorded by Nicko DiMarino in Deep Blue Studios where the band's early sound was once formed.

The band states:
"We envisioned a gritty attitude and more organic drum sound for these songs, so naturally we turned to Fred who is known for delivering just that. Since we have grown up listening to Dismember, it was truly an honor to work with him. I knew the new material would be very demanding to sing, so we decided to record the vocals with Nicko, an old friend of the band who has been with us from day one. We know we can always trust his ears and skill when the going gets tough."

STEELWING release brand new song "Och världen gav vika"

Written by Super User on 21 October 2015. Posted in News

Today, the Swedish metal outfit STEELWINGrelease a brand new track from their upcoming album "Reset, Reboot, Redeem".

Check out the song "Och världen gav vika" here:

The band states about the new song:
"With this album we really wanted to challenge ourselves to try new things and go beyond what people expect from Steelwing. One idea we played around with for a while was to include a song in Swedish, which finally turned out to be “Och världen gav vika”, the fourth track of “Reset, Reboot, Redeem”. The title roughly translates to “And the World Collapsed” and is in itself an homage to the Swedish translation of Ayn Rand’s classic novel “Atlas Shrugged”.
As with several of our previous songs the lyrics portray a nuclear apocalypse, but we’re bringing it closer to home this time. The song even includes a statement from former prime minister Thorbjörn Fälldin regarding the Soviet submarine, believed to be armed with nuclear weapons, that ran aground on the southern coast of Sweden in October 1981, causing a diplomatic crisis at the time. The decision to include this turned out oddly prophetic as in October 2014 when we were finishing up the songs, there were once again rumoured intrusions of Russian submarines in Swedish waters.
The song in itself follows the darker theme of the album, intense and hypnotically brooding, combining influences from heavy metal, thrash and the domestic punk scene."

"Reset, Reboot, Redeem" will be available as standard CD, black Vinyl and digitally.
The album can be pre-ordered here:

"Reset, Reboot, Redeem" is due for release on November 20th. It was recorded, mixed and co-produced by Swedish death metal legend Fred Estby (Necronaut, The Dagger, ex-Dismember) at Gutterview Recorders, with additional parts recorded by Nicko DiMarino in Deep Blue Studios where the band's early sound was once formed.

DVALIN - more album details released

110296 DVALIN Aus dem Schatten CoverWhere fresh blood is pumping through the veins and the re of youthful passion is setting hearts ablaze, vision and tradition unite to bring new life into the world...

The debut album of the German pagan/folk metal outfit DVALIN "Aus Dem Schatten"  (engl. "Out of the shadow") will be released January 08th, 2016 via NoiseArt Records.

The artwork was done by Verónica Ibáñez.

DVALIN states:
"After an endless march through dark caverns and chambers Dvalin, military leader of the dwarfs, is finally able to catch a glimpse of the flashy daylight. The Edda tells the story of him leading his people to freedom once again, after having to suffer from years of suppression. That is the mystical moment we tried to capture on our album cover, connecting it with the album title “Aus dem Schatten”, which symbolizes the liberation from the core of the earth. While some of the songs are referring to this tale very directly, others are linked with this subject in a more abstract way, dealing with rise and decay, faith and despair, those contrasts also being processed musically."
